A hidden gem in south Wales, Brombil Reservoir, which went viral during lockdown, is back on the market – for the third time in a year!
The reservoir was first put up for sale in 2023 with an asking price of £75,000.
However, the sale didn’t go as planned, and by 27th February 2024, it was relisted for £30,000. Just two weeks later, on 11th March, it sold for only £15,000.
The description of the property reads as follows: "The site comprises a parcel of land with a man-made reservoir nestled within a valley on Margam mountain.
The turquoise waters surrounding by hills forests and neighbouring Margam Country Park make this a very picturesque location.
We feel the site offers potential for generating revenue perhaps by creating small lodges/ glamping, wildlife tourism, education and or fishing. This is all subject to obtaining appropriate planning consents."
Samantha Price, who managed the sale for Watts & Morgan in March, mentioned that the reservoir is "high risk" because it sits above residential homes, requiring a structural surveyor's report every 10 years.
Known as the "blue lagoon", the reservoir covers just over an acre of surface area.
Previously, it had been advertised to potential buyers as having possible uses for leisure or tourism, though any development would need planning permission.

Remember - LeaveNoTrace!
As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!
Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
