England's top coastal walk with 'stunning views' and 'pristine sand'

The UK is home to countless stunning beaches, but only one has been named the best for a scenic coastal walk.

With over 1,500 beaches across the country, those looking to be more active in 2025 might find themselves heading to the coast for some fresh air and adventure.

While gym memberships tend to rise by more than 25% in January, those who prefer the outdoors may find that a walk along the beach is a much more enjoyable way to stay active.

For anyone wanting to make the most of the UK’s beautiful coastline, new research has revealed the best beaches in England for a walking trip.

Outdoor experts at GO Outdoors analysed and ranked England’s top winter beach walks, considering factors like average rainfall, temperature, daylight hours, and visitor popularity.

At the top of the list was Bamburgh Beach in Northumberland, praised by visitors for its soft golden sands, breathtaking views, and peaceful walking trails.

Located on the northeast coast, this stunning beach overlooks the Farne Islands, which are home to puffins, seals, and other wildlife. With an average temperature of just 5.5 degrees in winter, it’s still a fantastic destination—just make sure to wrap up warm!

Coming in second place was Dorset’s famous Durdle Door, a spectacular spot that is also perfect for fossil hunting during the quieter winter months.

Remember - LeaveNoTrace!

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
