‘Hidden gem’ town named one of the best places to live in the UK and ideal for a staycation

This seaside town is well known for its maritime history and has been named one of the best places to live in the UK, according to Zoopla.
While holidays abroad can be fun, they often come with a high price tag. Luckily, Britain is packed with brilliant staycation spots that offer memorable experiences and days out without spending too much.
One of these picturesque locations is in Kent. With its pebble beaches, colourful houses and pretty streets, this place has been described as a “dreamy” destination for a relaxing break.
This coastal town, famous for its seafaring past, has also been listed by Zoopla as one of the UK’s best places to live.
The town boasts a bustling high street filled with independent shops, two historic castles; Deal Castle and Walmer Castle, and sweeping views of the seafront. It even appeared as a filming location in the ITV drama Liar.
A video showing off the highlights of Deal went viral online, reports the Express. Shared by @keeperscottages, it said: “Welcome to Deal. A hidden gem of Kent, perfect for a short break or family holiday. We have a range of beautiful houses, cottages and apartments to rent right here in Deal.”
Keepers Cottages also added: “Just one hour and 23 minutes from London St Pancras, Deal is full of pretty buildings, pastel-coloured houses, brilliant food spots, dog-friendly beaches, restaurants, cafes and shops.”
Every Saturday the town hosts a lively market selling local produce. For golf fans, there are also three championship courses nearby.
After seeing the TikTok video, people rushed to the comments to say they wanted to visit. One wrote: “On my list. When I visit England.” Another said: “We have friends in Deal and it is exactly this lovely.”
A third commented: “So lovely.” While another described the town as looking absolutely “dreamy.”
