Lud's Church is a stunning nature feature, filled with fascinating history, and makes you feel like you've suddenly transported to a jungle ravine. It can be tricky to find and easy to miss, so keep an eye on the signposted signs!

Thought to be created when the Devil scrapped back his finger on his way back to hell (so the legends say!), Lud's Church is a geological adventure perfect for all ages and a truly breath-taking hidden gem.


Even if you have researched this place, when you actually see it for yourself it really is something else. The photos and videos can't give it justice!

It's safe for kids when accompanied by an adult and the ups and downs of the muddy paths can be enjoyed whilst making your way to Gradbach Woods.


Things to know before visiting Lud's Church

  • There's a small car park which gets filled up quick so it's best to visit early. It is £5 for all day parking.

  • Lud's Church is dog-friendly however dogs must be kept on the lead.
