England’s “prettiest” castle has been described by visitors as “a dream in autumn.”
For history fans searching for a perfect day out this season, this castle in Kent is said to be “well worth a visit.”
Surrounded by 125 acres of grounds, the castle is steeped in history and is best known as the childhood home of Anne Boleyn.

The 14th-century castle and its award-winning gardens regularly go viral on social media.
In a recent post, travel blogger @lostinsamuel called it one of the best places to visit in autumn. He wrote: “I think this is the prettiest castle in England during autumn.”
He added: “Just an hour from London, this castle feels like a dream during autumn. Imagine old stone walls covered in deep red ivy, glowing under the golden light.
Wander through the Italian-style gardens, where leaves crunch beneath your feet, statues peek through the morning mist, and reflections shimmer across calm waters.”
The blogger also reminded his followers of its royal history. “Anne Boleyn once walked these paths as a child, and later, Henry VIII visited too. You can feel the history everywhere, from the great halls to the hidden corners of the gardens,” he said.
He continued: “If you’re searching for the ultimate autumn escape, you need to visit now! Take a 40-minute train from London Bridge to Hever, then walk 20 minutes through fields and countryside.” His video gained hundreds of likes and comments from impressed viewers.
If you’re planning a trip, there is an entry fee for both the castle and gardens. Online, adult tickets for the gardens only cost £19.35, while tickets including entry to the castle cost £24.65.
Discounts are available for children, students, seniors, and families, and there’s also an annual pass for those who want to visit more than once.
Hever Castle and Gardens currently holds over 2,500 glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. One visitor wrote: “Not to be missed! The castle is full of fascinating history, stunning woodwork, paintings, and tapestries. It’s such a beautiful and unforgettable place to explore.”
