The charming Cotswolds village often called the ‘prettiest in England’

A village in the Cotswolds has been called "the prettiest in England", and it’s easy to see why. It’s so beautiful that it’s been used in lots of films and TV shows.

There are lots of lovely hidden spots across the country, and this one stands out. The village, often said to be the prettiest in England, has amazing houses and peaceful views, which makes it a favourite for filmmakers.

Castle Combe, found in Wiltshire, is a small village near Chippenham and Bath. According to the 2021 census, only 356 people live there.

Known as “the prettiest village in England”, Castle Combe has appeared in films like Doctor Dolittle, Stardust, War Horse and The Wolf Man.

It’s also been seen in TV shows such as Robin Hood, Poirot, Doctor Thorne and the Apple TV+ series Slow Horses.

Fans of Downton Abbey might be excited to know that scenes from the popular show were also filmed in this village.
