10 stunning UK beaches with the warmest waters for a perfect swim

The sunshine looks set to stay this summer, so why not enjoy it at some of the UK’s best beaches?

England has plenty of stunning sandy spots to wow holidaymakers, but choosing the best can be tricky, especially if you want the warmest sea for swimming and water sports.

Luckily, Iglu Cruise has revealed a list of England’s most beautiful beaches with the warmest waters during summer. Forget expensive flights abroad – these breathtaking locations are right on your doorstep.

Cornwall leads the way, with more warm-water beaches than anywhere else in the country. At the top is Porthcurno Beach, where the average summer sea temperature reaches 16.6°C.

This famous beach is known worldwide for its golden sands and dramatic cliffs. It’s also a favourite for families thanks to its soft white sand, perfect for building sandcastles or hunting for shells.

Also on the list are Cornwall’s much-loved Fristral Beach and Perranporth Beach, where the sea warms to around 16.4°C.

Fristral, on the north coast near Newquay, is world-famous for surfing and attracts visitors from across the globe.

Thanks to its consistent waves, Fristral regularly hosts big international surf competitions, complete with a judging area built right on the beach. It’s also home to Cornwall’s popular Boardmasters Festival every summer.

Devon also ranks highly, with Woolacombe Beach and Tunnels Beaches making the cut. Both are praised for their warm waters and natural beauty, averaging 16.3°C.

Woolacombe stretches for nearly three miles, backed by rolling green hills. It’s a family favourite, and while busy in summer, the huge sandy stretch means there’s plenty of space to spread out.

In Essex, both Frinton-on-Sea and Clacton-on-Sea beaches made the list, with average sea temperatures of 16.1°C. Crosby Beach in Merseyside also featured, though slightly cooler at 15.6°C.

The final two warm-water beaches highlighted were Brighton Beach and Camber Sands in Essex. With average summer waters of 15.6°C, they’re not the warmest but are still popular spots for a refreshing seaside dip.

Remember - LeaveNoTrace!

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
