A town in the east of England is expected to enjoy warmer weather than much of the rest of the country this September as autumn begins to settle in.
Weather experts say one part of the UK will see higher temperatures than most other regions, with maps showing a hot spell on the way.
This is often called an Indian Summer, when the weather stays unusually warm for the time of year after summer ends.
Even though Britain has already had a hot summer, many people are still hoping for a few more sunny days before the colder months arrive.
New forecasts highlight a section of the UK glowing orange on the weather charts as temperatures climb above 20C. In some spots along the east coast, the heat will even reach 23C, which is unusually high for September.
One of these locations is Skegness, a much-loved seaside town on the Lincolnshire coast. With its sandy beach and holiday atmosphere, Skegness is set to be a top choice for visitors looking to enjoy warm days before the chill of winter.
According to WXCharts, Skegness will hit 23C on Tuesday 2 September. Similar warm conditions are predicted again on Thursday 4 September and Saturday 6 September. The area looks set for a run of fine weather, giving locals and tourists plenty of time to enjoy the coast.
Skegness has been a favourite seaside destination for generations. The town offers all the traditional amusements that make British holidays special, from penny arcades to fish and chips. A highlight for many is the Natureland Seal Sanctuary, where visitors can see rescued seals up close.
Another popular attraction is Fantasy Island, a lively spot packed with rides, games, and entertainment for families. Of course, Skegness Beach itself remains a major draw, with golden sand and good reviews from holidaymakers who return year after year.
One happy tourist wrote on Tripadvisor: "We used to think Skeggy felt a bit run down, but now it has completely changed.
The attractions are bigger and better, there are plenty of shops open, and the whole place has a lively, family-friendly feel. The fun fair is great with rides for everyone, and the town is bustling with energy."
A second visitor commented: "I went to Skegness recently and was really impressed by the improvements. The beach was spotless, the streets were tidy, and parking was easy thanks to the large car parks. It felt very welcoming and enjoyable."
They added: "The food in the pubs and cafes was tasty and fairly priced, which made eating out even better. The fairground was affordable and provided lots of fun for the kids. Altogether, it was a brilliant trip and I’m already planning to come back again soon."
Skegness seems set for a sunny September, making it the perfect time to visit before autumn properly takes hold. With warm weather, exciting attractions, and plenty of seaside charm, it remains one of the best-loved coastal towns in the UK.

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
