A Welsh campsite set in an almost magical location has been named as one of the best places to stay in Britain, thanks to its truly unforgettable surroundings.
Set beside a river and a waterfall, with woodland views inside Snowdonia National Park, visitors describe it as a fairytale-like escape that feels far from everyday life.
This campsite earned a place on a special list of 150 top sites chosen by Campsites.co.uk, which reviews more than 3,200 campsites across the UK.
Adding to the praise for North Wales, nineteen other campsites in the area were also recognised for offering brilliant staycation experiences.
Tucked away in the beautiful Rhinog mountains and just a short distance from Shell Island near Llanbedr, Nantcol Waterfalls is close to a beach recently named the best in Wales by The Times and Sunday Times.
The campsite sits alongside the gently flowing Afon Nantcol, making it a great spot for paddling, swimming or fishing in peaceful surroundings.
A short walk from the pitches brings visitors to the impressive waterfall that gives the campsite its name, adding to its natural charm.
As well as classic camping, the site offers glamping pods with TVs, underfloor heating and WiFi, plus the option to hire firepits, according to North Wales Live.
After being named the UK’s number one campsite last year, guests awarded it an excellent 4.89-star rating for its calm setting and high standards.
Visitors can choose from electric grass pitches, waterside bell tents and luxury glamping pods, while new features this year include a wood-fired sauna and motorhome hire.
