Hidden beach with breathtaking sunrises is a ‘closely kept secret’ missing from Google Map

One of Northumberland’s best-kept secrets, this little beach lies not far from popular coastal favourites like Bamburgh and Tynemouth.
Tucked away beside the village of Howick – itself known as one of the county’s hidden gems, this hidden gem is a small beach that’s so secret it doesn’t even show up on Google Maps.
The beach takes its unusual name from a hole in the rocks that makes a deep rumbling noise when waves crash through at high tide, reports Chronicle Live.
Adding to its charm is an old bathing house, once used by Earl Grey and his family of 16 children.
While you won’t spot it on Google, using postcode NE66 3LH will take you close to the site.
That postcode will guide you to a nearby farm where you can leave your car before walking the rest of the way to the beach.
Even though it isn’t widely written about, Rumbling Kern has started to attract the interest of travel lovers looking for quieter spots.
Travel blog The Crave Traveler called it “England’s best kept secret” and recommended it as a brilliant place to watch the sunrise, go exploring, or simply sit down with a picnic.
“If you weren’t looking for it, you wouldn’t find it,” the blog added.
Tourism site Visit Northumberland also describes Rumbling Kern as “a closely guarded secret among coast connoisseurs” and the perfect escape for a peaceful afternoon.
Those who have made the effort to track it down have left glowing reviews, with one Tripadvisor visitor praising the “amazing scenery” found at this hidden beach.
