A waterfall in Northumberland that crashes into a deep natural pool has been ranked as one of the top five wild swimming spots in England.
Found in the beautiful Breamish Valley, the walk to the waterfall is a three mile round trip starting from the village of Linhope, and the path is clearly signposted.
Along the way you might spot red squirrels, and if not, you may see Scots pine cones scattered on the ground where they have been eating.

Linhope Spout is one of the most impressive waterfalls in Northumberland, hidden away in the peaceful Breamish Valley.
The water drops around 18 metres into a deep plunge pool below, surrounded by rocky cliffs and ancient woodland.
After heavy rain, the waterfall becomes even more powerful, sending spray into the air and filling the valley with the sound of rushing water.
This peaceful and scenic setting makes it a favourite place for visitors during the warmer months, especially for those wanting a picnic beside the water.
Outdoor retailer Go Outdoors says that wild swimming has become much more popular over the past few years.
The company explains: "With stunning views, clear fresh water and a real sense of adventure, wild swimming is a brilliant way to feel close to nature. England has some amazing locations, each offering something different."
Other places included in the top five list are Buttermere Infinity Pool, Black Moss Pot and Thirlmere Infinity Pool in the Lake District, along with Kisdon Force in the Yorkshire Dales.
Remember - LeaveNoTrace!
As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!
Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
