Families searching for a “beautiful” woodland walk are spoiled for choice at this time of year.
The British countryside truly shines in autumn, when the trees burst into brilliant shades of red, yellow, and orange.
This National Trust gem offers “acres of Grade I listed landscaped gardens and lakes, surrounded by historic parkland and woodland.”
In a recent TikTok video, creator @axelleoe described it as “your sign to go to Sheffield Park this autumn,” calling it “the most beautiful park.”
If you’re planning a visit, entry is free for National Trust members, while non-members will need to buy a ticket.
According to the National Trust website, adult admission costs £18, and there are discounted prices for children, families, and groups. Parking is free for everyone.
Sheffield Park and Garden has earned over 800 glowing reviews on TripAdvisor and is rated among Uckfield’s top attractions.
One happy visitor shared: “We went to Sheffield Park to see the autumn colours, as we do every year. It was as fabulous as ever, but this year I was amazed by all the colourful toadstools. Always such a joy to visit.”
Another reviewer said: “We’ve been coming for years, and every time it looks different. From the incredible rhododendrons to the breathtaking autumn colours, it’s worth visiting in any season.
It’s great for families and couples, with lots of benches, grassy spots for picnics, and paths that are mostly flat and wheelchair-friendly.”
One more guest added: “This is one of the most beautiful parks we’ve ever visited. It can get quite busy in autumn when the colours are at their best, but it’s much quieter in summer and still just as lovely.”
The park’s peaceful lakes, winding trails, and open lawns make it the perfect place to unwind and take in the scenery. Whether you’re after a gentle stroll, a picnic, or simply a place to enjoy nature, Sheffield Park and Garden is a must-visit spot for autumn days.
With its mix of history, colour, and calm, it’s easy to see why so many visitors describe it as “magical”, especially when the leaves begin to turn and the reflections dance across the still waters.
