This is the hidden beach with golden sands that could be mistaken for the Caribbean

Brits planning a break might want to look towards Northumberland, home to a breathtaking beach often described as one of the UK’s best-kept secrets.

The small village of Embleton is not a typical tourist hotspot, with only a handful of eateries and places to stay, but it is a perfect choice for anyone seeking peace and quiet away from the crowds.

At the heart of it all is this beautiful hidden gem, reached via the Northumberland Coastal Route. With its wide sandy beach and stunning views, it could easily be mistaken for a slice of the Caribbean.

Although many visitors praise the bay’s natural beauty, some point out that access can be tricky for those with limited mobility. Still, those who make the effort often say the scenery makes it worthwhile.

One delighted traveller described it as “probably one of the most beautiful bays anywhere in the world.”

Another added: “Lovely, quiet dog-friendly beach with stunning views. There’s a castle at one end of the bay and a pub at the other, up at Low Newton By The Sea.”

They continued: “Embleton Beach is just amazing. We stayed in a cottage overlooking the bay and walked our dog on the sand every morning, often without seeing a single other person.”

The coastline is also popular with birdwatchers, thanks to the nearby Newton Pool Bird Reserve, which is home to many species of seabirds and waders. Even so, the sandy beach itself remains the biggest attraction, reports the Mirror.

One visitor who came in September called Embleton Bay a “hidden gem.” They explained: “The beach has soft white sand and the sea is clear and safe for swimming.”

They added: “Dunstanburgh Castle makes a dramatic backdrop, and it’s a pleasant walk along the coast to the village of Craster.”

Remember - LeaveNoTrace!

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
