Beach lovers think they’ve found the best place in Cornwall to watch the sunset, and it happens to be one of the most famous beaches in the world.


Located in Newquay, this hidden gem attracts visitors all year round. Known for its world-class surfing, this stunning sandy beach is a favourite for both tourists and locals alike.


Often called the “home of British surfing,” this beach isn’t just about the waves, it also offers breathtaking views and some of the most beautiful sunsets in Cornwall.

TikTok user @sophsnextchapter recently shared a video of the beach, calling it “the best sunset spot in Cornwall.”


In her post, she asked: “Is this the place to watch the sunset in Cornwall? I think so… Fistral Beach, Newquay.” The short clip quickly went viral, gaining thousands of views and comments.


One person replied: “This looks stunning.” Another said: “Beautiful.” A third commented: “This is truly perfection,” while someone else added: “Oh wow.” One fan simply wrote: “My favourite place ever.”


Fistral Beach has more than 3,000 five-star reviews on TripAdvisor and is listed among the top attractions in Newquay, ranking fifth out of 51.


Many visitors mention the beach’s incredible sunsets, describing it as an unmissable spot for anyone visiting Cornwall.



One reviewer wrote: “Just arriving at this iconic surfing beach in Cornwall feels special. There’s so much to enjoy, from coastal walks to beach bars and restaurants, all with amazing sunset views.


“The soft sand and gentle slope into the sea make it great for beginner surfers and families. There’s a lifeguard on duty and good facilities. A must-visit while in Cornwall.”


Another visitor agreed, saying: “Lovely sandy beach close to restaurants and the town centre. Easy to reach and perfect for watching the sunset. Definitely worth a visit.”


A third said: “A surfer’s paradise with a stunning sunset. There’s a café and a few shops nearby. It can get windy, but it’s still well worth the trip. Parking can be tight when it’s busy, but it’s an easy walk from most local hotels.”
