Pollnagollum Cave | Hidden Gem in Northern Ireland

Updated: Jan 2

Game of Thrones fans will recognise Pollnagollum Cave from the series. However since it's so remote and the waterfall flow depends on rainfall, we wouldn't say it's not worth driving the long distance!

The full walk is quite short considering (it's only 40-45 minutes long) however the waterfall and caves are worth the journey to visit! The views you'll receive at the top of the walk are outstanding too!

Stunning waterfall flowing through the cave, also a filming location for Game of Thrones! – Google Review

Visitors can enjoy a nice walk with some beautiful views over some of the Fermanagh Lakes, hiking across 7km on gravel paths at a reasonably steep gradient.

Things to know before visiting Pollnagollum Cave

  • Unfortunately we don't recommend this hidden gem to those with children/prams etc.

  • Pollnagollum Cave is dog-friendly.

  • There is only room for about 4 cars in the layby so it's best to get here early to visit.
