The Muddy Stilettos Awards have revealed the 2025 winners for the best destination pubs in England, with one charming Yorkshire pub taking the top spot.
The annual competition, which celebrates local and regional pubs, says it has discovered the new “best of the best.”
The organisers wrote: “Over the past few weeks, our expert editorial team has debated and discussed to bring you the Muddy Awards National Winners across 21 categories and 35 Muddy counties.”
The event said that every finalist was “amazing and worth a visit,” but if you’re unsure where to start, here’s the list of standout finalists, and the pub that’s officially been crowned England’s best destination spot.
The Blind Bull, Little Hucklow
This charming village pub took home the title of Muddy Stilettos’ ‘Best Destination Pub.’ Found in Little Hucklow, this independent pub describes itself as the youngest in the village, yet filled with fascinating history and character.
The Ebrington Arms, Chipping Campden
Dating back more than two hundred years, this traditional pub says it now welcomes visitors “from all over the world.” It’s even become a must-visit stop for fans who follow the pub on social media, according to its website.
The Finch’s Arms, Oakham, Rutland
Complete with its own boutique hotel, this 17th-century country pub sits in the heart of the Hambleton Peninsula overlooking Rutland Water. With wooden beams, cosy décor and a terrace boasting peaceful views, it’s easy to see why it made the list.
The Punch Bowl, Mayfair
Bringing fine dining flair to the classic British pub experience, this elegant London venue sits on a quiet Mayfair street. It offers “three very different dining experiences,” catering to everything from relaxed lunches to special occasions.
William IV, Albury
Set in the Surrey Hills, this charming 16th-century building is the picture of an English country pub. It serves locally brewed beers and an impressive cocktail list, alongside wines from across Europe, South America and the UK – all at prices described as “very fair.”
Remember - LeaveNoTrace!
As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!
Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
