The overlooked Christmas market that ranks among the best, and it’s not in Bath, York, or Chester

With Christmas fast approaching, many people are starting to plan their festive days out.
One of the most popular seasonal traditions is visiting Christmas markets, and with so many across the UK, there’s no shortage of choice.
While famous markets like Bath, York and Chester often steal the spotlight, there are plenty of underrated ones that deserve just as much attention.
One of those hidden gems is the Glasgow Christmas Market, which promises festive fun for all ages.
This year’s celebrations are set to be bigger and better than ever, with a major change announced, Lochview Theme Park is taking over as the new organiser.
Instead of being in just one location, this year’s event will feature several festive “hubs” around Glasgow Green and St Enoch Square.
The council says these new hubs will “have a broad appeal and be firmly family focused,” with attractions and entertainment for people of all ages to enjoy.
The city will also sparkle with even more Christmas spirit thanks to its Christmas Lighting Trail, which will turn the city centre into a “magical, illuminated journey.” Local artists have been invited to showcase their work, celebrating Glasgow’s people, places and stories through creative light displays.
The market has earned plenty of praise in previous years for its amazing food stalls and variety of gifts.
As well as bars and shops for adults, there are also rides and fun activities for children, making it a great festive outing for families. This year, the St Enoch Square hub will run from November 18 to January 5.
One visitor wrote on Google: “A wonderful Christmas Market. Great for last-minute shopping and full of interesting products.”
Another added: “Awesome atmosphere, loads of great food stalls and shops, definitely worth the visit.”
A third reviewer shared on TripAdvisor: “My kids absolutely loved it. There’s a huge variety of food and things to do. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricey, but still a fantastic experience overall.”
