The secret UK beach that features dramatic castles and hidden sea caves

Living on an island means most of us are never too far from the sea, and many people even choose to live within walking distance of the coast.
But being so close to the ocean often makes us forget about the stunning beaches right on our doorstep.
One coastal treasure that is often missed but rivals some of the world’s best is this hidden gem, found between Margate and Broadstairs in Kent, reports the Express.
This peaceful spot has become popular on social media for its beauty, and amazingly it is only 90 minutes from London.
In a TikTok clip, creator Lotteboo shared the secret, saying: “This beach is just 90 minutes from London and has sea caves you can only see at low tide, huge chalk stacks that look like castles, and the most beautiful soft sand.”
In the video’s caption she wrote: “Hidden between Broadstairs and Margate on the Kent coast, Botany Bay is one of the most photogenic beaches in the UK.”
The area also attracts walkers and cyclists keen to follow the Viking Coastal Trail, a famous route around the Isle of Thanet.
The trail is known for its dramatic white chalk cliffs, with Botany Bay being one of the best examples.
Visitors exploring the sea caves can also find carvings and marks left by smugglers and pirates more than 300 years ago.
When the tide goes out, the beach also reveals rock pools and even fossils.
However, Visit South East England warns visitors to take care with the tide, as some areas of the beach can be cut off quickly when the sea comes back in.
Lotte’s love for the bay was echoed by many online, with one person writing: “I can’t believe this is in the UK! Straight on the list,” while another said: “I’ve been to Botany Bay, it’s absolutely beautiful.”
