The stunning beach nestled between two UK seaside villages known as the British Hamptons

Tucked between two of Cornwall’s most stylish seaside towns, a small stretch of golden sand has been attracting lots of attention and earning a rather fancy nickname.

This hidden gem on the North Cornish coast between Rock and Polzeath, is now often called the “UK Hamptons” because of its peaceful setting, beautiful views and quiet sense of luxury.

Set on the east side of the River Camel estuary, this beach sits around six miles north of Wadebridge, with Trebetherick Point to the north and the grassy mound of Brea Hill to the south.

From the top of the hill, visitors can see across the Camel Estuary towards Padstow, a wide and stunning view that has inspired artists and photographers for years.

But the thing people love most about Daymer Bay is how calm it feels. The beach is sheltered by the estuary, which means the clear blue water stays gentle and shallow, something that’s quite rare on this part of the coastline.

Families enjoy paddling safely here, dogs can run freely all year, and paddleboarders glide across the smooth surface of the water. The beach is also known for its clean soft sand, which slopes gently to the sea, and its easy access to coastal paths.

“There’s something very private about it,” one visitor wrote in a Tripadvisor review.

It’s not unusual to see famous holidaymakers here, although part of Daymer Bay’s charm is how quietly it keeps its smart, exclusive feel.

“Properties here hold their value well and are always in demand,” says Josephine Ashby from John Bray Estates, which sells some of Cornwall’s most desirable coastal homes.

“Only one or two homes are sold each year, often without even going on the market. Buyers like the idea of owning a property that has stayed in the same family for many generations.”

Among the rare homes available now are St Cuby, a four-bedroom property with a heated pool and wide estuary views for £2.5 million, and The Cottage, a bright white home close to the sand, priced at £2.25 million.

Remember - LeaveNoTrace!

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
