The stunning UK seaside beach that visitors say ‘looks just like Australia’

One stunning British beach has been described as looking just like the coastline in Australia.

The UK has no shortage of gorgeous seaside spots, from the Jurassic Coast in the south to Scotland’s sandy bays.

But one beach in particular has been compared to one of Australia’s most famous coastal locations.

A travel blogger highlighted UK destinations that feel like cheaper alternatives to popular places abroad, giving people the chance to enjoy the same vibe without long flights.

Among them was a breathtaking beach in Cornwall that she says looks just like Bondi Beach in Sydney. Angela Price, who writes the blog Where Angie Wanders, pointed out that this hidden beach in Newquay makes the perfect Bondi dupe.

She explained: “Fistral Beach in Cornwall is one of the best surfing destinations in the world.”

Angela added: “The wide, curved bay is excellent for catching waves.

It is also where the UK’s biggest surf competitions are held, such as the Famous Night Surf, the Boardmasters Surf Championships and the National Surf Championships.”

Newquay is a lively seaside town that fills up with holidaymakers every summer. Fistral Beach is its most famous attraction, but visitors will also find excellent restaurants and places to enjoy traditional Cornish food.

Although Fistral Beach stretches only 750 metres, it is a favourite with families. The beach has plenty of nearby cafes, restaurants and facilities including toilets. According to Tripadvisor, it ranks as the sixth best beach in the entire UK.

Reviews from visitors are glowing. One person said: “This is a wonderful beach for families. When the tide is out, natural rock pools appear along the right side of the beach, making it great for kids to explore.”

Another shared: “We return to Newquay every year for this beautiful beach. We love spending the whole day here, watching the surfers, dipping into the sea and trying to protect our pasties from seagulls.

The beach is spotless and well set up with showers, toilets and baby change. There are shops and restaurants just steps away, plus a hut for pasties and ice cream. It is the perfect family day out.”

A third added: “I have visited this beach many times and the atmosphere is always brilliant, especially in summer.

There are great options right on the beachfront, including a pizzeria, a bar, a café and surf hire. It’s a fantastic spot for families, couples or even solo visitors like me. Whether you want to take surfing lessons or just enjoy the buzz, this beach has it all.”

Remember - LeaveNoTrace!

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
