You can only reach this secret beach in England by climbing a sheer cliff

Hidden away on the far west tip of the Cornwall peninsula, where the cliffs plunge dramatically into the powerful Atlantic Ocean, lies a legendary and utterly isolated stretch of white sand.

The atmosphere is one of profound secrecy and quiet danger, as the beach is only accessible via a challenging, near-vertical descent down the rock face or by boat.

This untouched, secret spot feels less like Britain and more like a private, tropical lagoon.

The location is completely separated from easy civilisation by the sheer, imposing headlands that surround it, ensuring that only the most determined keen walkers ever manage to reach its pristine shore.

The water here is astonishingly bright and clear, displaying a palette of turquoise and emerald greens that are more commonly associated with the exotic shores of the Caribbean. It is a place of truly spectacular, wild beauty.

Its secret beauty comes from the brilliant white sand, which is exposed at low tide, and the shallow, sheltered water that filters the sunlight to create that impossible tropical glow.

The cove is famously framed by the majestic, granite sea arch known as Logan Rock.

For practical travellers, be profoundly warned that the descent to the beach is challenging and potentially dangerous, requiring scrambling skills and sturdy boots (though the beach itself is stunning).

Access is heavily tide-dependent, and the whole area vanishes at high tide, so careful planning is non-negotiable.

Finding a suitable car park means utilising the facilities at the nearby Porthcurno beach, requiring a longer, scenic walk along the cliff tops.

Visitors consistently agree that the challenging approach is entirely justified by the stunning visual reward of the beach’s untouched beauty and crystal-clear water.

This remote, forgotten piece of the Cornish coastline remains one of Britain’s most exotic secrets, offering unparalleled natural drama for your next adventurous holiday.

The magnificent destination we are finally revealing is Pedn Vounder Beach, a remote and truly spectacular cove located near the famous Minack Theatre and the village of Porthcurno.

Remember - LeaveNoTrace!

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
