Fairytale campsite with a waterfall near one of the UK’s best beaches named among Britain’s finest

A campsite in Wales with a setting described as “out of this world” has been named one of the best in Britain.
Surrounded by woodland in Snowdonia National Park, and with a river and waterfall running nearby, visitors say the site has a real “fairytale” feel.

Hidden in the stunning Rhinog mountains, yet just a few miles from the sandy stretches of Shell Island near Llanbedr, recently voted Wales’ best beach by The Times and Sunday Times, Nantcol Waterfalls is a true hidden gem.
The site is home to the flowing Afon Nantcol river, where guests can paddle, swim, or even try a spot of fishing.
The hidden waterfall, which gives the campsite its name, is only a short walk away.
As well as standard pitches, there are glamping pods on site, each with underfloor heating, WiFi, a TV, and the option to hire firepits, reports North Wales Live.
The campsite was crowned the UK’s number one last year, and with its 4.89-star rating from visitors, it’s easy to see why.
One happy camper wrote: “The only sounds are the birds, the river and the odd sheep. It really is paradise, we didn’t want to leave.”
Another visitor said: “We’ve finally found our happy place. The site is beautifully maintained, eco-friendly, and dedicated to protecting the natural surroundings.”
Nantcol Waterfalls now offers optional electric grass pitches for tents and tourers, waterside bell tents, and luxury glamping pods. New for this year is a wood-fired sauna and even motorhome hire.

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!
Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
