This is the hidden Yorkshire waterfall tucked away in woodland beside a Bradford village

When you travel around Yorkshire, it is easy to see how lucky we are to have some of the finest countryside in the world.

From the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales to the dramatic views along the Yorkshire Coast, nature is all around us.

With so many famous landmarks, it is no surprise that there are also hidden gems waiting to be discovered, and this hidden gem is one of the best.

Although North Yorkshire is known for spectacular waterfalls such as Aysgarth Falls, Goit Stock is actually located in West Yorkshire.

It sits between the villages of Cullingworth, Harden and Wilsden, and can be found along Harden Beck.

If you start your walk in Harden village, be ready for a bit of a journey to reach the falls. The route begins gently as you follow Goit Stock Lane, a private road that runs alongside the beck.

As you continue along the lane, you will spot a smaller waterfall on your left, offering a lovely glimpse of what is still to come further ahead. Keep walking and you will pass a caravan park, but Goit Stock lies beyond it.

A few minutes later, the road ends and turns into a rough dirt path. During autumn, the ground is often covered in fallen leaves, giving the walk a real seasonal feel.

The path can be busy at times, but when I visited there was nobody else around, which made it wonderfully quiet.

As you follow the beck deeper into the woodland, the trail becomes slightly rockier and more slippery underfoot.

After roughly 20 minutes of walking, you are greeted with an impressive sight. Goit Stock Waterfall feels almost magical, tucked away among trees and greenery in its peaceful woodland setting.

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
