The peaceful spot, tucked away near Penzance in southwest Cornwall, has been hailed as one of the UK’s true hidden gems, with visitors saying the cove is “beautiful and special.”
Reaching the beach involves a scenic 20-minute walk along a quiet country lane from a nearby village close to Penzance.
Its postcode, TR19 7AH, places it within the parish of St Levan., and you'll be surprised at how many people don't know it exists!
One TikTok user, clearly impressed, shared: “It’s absolutely stunning. Was there last Thursday. Hands down the best beach in Cornwall.” Another wrote: “Just been, it was amazing. The water really was that blue! It’s a bit of a walk but worth it, especially at sunset.”
A third beachgoer said: “Nanjizal is a beautiful spot… great walk from Porthgwarra.” Someone else added: “Oh wow, thank you for sharing this,” after seeing the videos online.
But not all reviews came without a warning. One visitor cautioned: “Went there two weeks ago! Absolutely beautiful and special, but we ended up going down a steep rocky path. Very dangerous, I nearly slipped.”
Another admitted their trip didn’t go quite to plan: “Watch out for the huge boulders at the start of the beach. I didn’t even get to see the cave because I fell and broke my wrist.”
Locals also had their say. A Cornish resident commented: “Been there loads of times, it’s stunning. I really recommend it for photos and exploring. Just be careful – I got stung by a jellyfish there once, and it was really painful.”
A different visitor also offered practical advice: “Driving there isn’t easy – the roads are very narrow, so you’ll need to be confident. It’s also quite a long walk from the car park to the beach.”
Tourist guide Cornwall One describes Nanjizal as: “A small, secluded gem that has stayed unspoilt and kept its natural Cornish charm. With no facilities, the beach’s untouched beauty is what makes it so appealing.”
They also highlight its importance for wildlife: “It’s a sanctuary for birds like chiffchaffs, whitethroats and blackcaps, while in the sea you might even spot Bluefin tuna, which have recently been seen along the Cornish coast.”

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!
Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
