UK’s best campsite costs just £21 and comes with a huge pool and a lovely beach

A campsite near Newquay, has been named AA Campsite of the Year South West England for 2025.

Its seaside setting and great facilities, including a heated outdoor pool, helped it earn this impressive title.

The AA also gave it a five star rating in its grading system. With 223 pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents, this coastal campsite holds a strong 4.7 rating on Google.

Situated on the A3059 near Newquay, it looks out over the sparkling Celtic Sea. The sandy Porth Beach is only a 10 minute drive away and is a favourite with surfers thanks to its lively waves.

On quieter days, visitors can swim or paddle in the sea, or explore the rock pools dotted along the beach.

Close by is busy Newquay Beach which, although very popular, still has plenty of sand for everyone to enjoy. Here you will spot surfers, paddleboarders, kayakers and plenty of people enjoying the coastal fun, reports Cornwall Live.

One of Treloy’s biggest draws is its heated outdoor pool. Open daily from 8am until 7pm, the pool area has sun loungers where guests can relax and enjoy the warm weather.

There is also a small paddling pool for younger children.

AA inspectors praised Treloy for its modern, high quality showers and toilet blocks, making the camping experience much more comfortable.

The site includes 20 private washrooms and three family shower rooms, which make it easier for parents to get little ones changed.

Visitors can choose from hard standing or grass pitches, with some offering water and electric hook ups. In 2026, the campsite will add XL pitches for bigger families or anyone wanting more space.

The site also features a shop where you can pick up essentials like a Cornish pasty, and a café that focuses on using local ingredients. Children will love the outdoor play area and the indoor games room which includes table tennis.
