A beach in the UK has been hailed as one of the ‘most beautiful’ in the world, with many saying it’s the very best Britain has to offer.
Across the globe, there are countless dream-like beaches with crystal-clear waters, soft white sand, and breathtaking ocean views that make them truly unforgettable.
Being by the sea can bring a sense of peace and joy, which is why so many people make visiting the beach a key part of their holidays or even their everyday lives.
Although places like Whitehaven Beach in Australia, Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos, and Elafonissi Beach in Greece are often celebrated as some of the world’s top coastal spots, the UK also has its fair share of incredible beaches.
In a popular TikTok video, five of the country’s most stunning seaside locations were ranked, with two Welsh beaches proudly taking both the first and second spots.
The video was shared by Globescribe, a TikTok account with over 1.9 million likes, which put together a fast-paced countdown of its top picks for the UK’s most beautiful beaches.
Using Google Earth images, the clip zooms into each location and gives quick, interesting facts about what makes each one so special.
The countdown kicks off with Bournemouth Beach in fifth place, praised for its “golden sand and clear blue water” and described as a “family favourite”.
In fourth place was Blackpool Sands – and despite the name, it’s not in Blackpool. This Devon gem is surrounded by rolling green hills and offers stunning views.
Third place went to the famous Luskentyre Beach on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, known for its “white sand and turquoise waters that look like the Caribbean”.
In second place was Barafundle Bay, a secluded stretch of sand in Wales, tucked away near Stackpole Quay in Pembrokeshire.
Often described as a “hidden gem”, it can only be reached by walking along a cliff path, but visitors say the “gentle waves” and “soft golden sand” make it feel like your very own private paradise.
Taking the number one spot was the stunning Rhossili Bay. Found on the western tip of the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, about an hour’s drive from Swansea, it wowed judges with its “vast sandy beach, striking views and unforgettable sunsets”.
Remember - LeaveNoTrace!
As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!
Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
