5 hidden gem beaches to escape the crowds in the UK this summer

With summer approaching, the temptation of sitting peacefully whilst collecting some pleasant Vitamin D becomes irrestible. However, with that comes more and more people visiting the same beaches as you!


Whilst the UK is home to some of the best beaches in the world, there are still some hidden beauties waiting to be explored!


If you're looking for a peaceful beach escaping the crowds, then these 5 hidden gems should definately be on your bucket list! Especially with the school holidays coming up, we would recommend planning these beach trips earlier in the day; ensuring you definately avoid the tourists.

It's worth noting that you may have to visit some of these hidden gems early in the day in order to get them all to yourself, especially during the school holidays etc.

Achmelvich Bay, Scotland: If you're a lover of golden sandy beaches with crystal clear water, then you should definitely be heading to Achmelvich Bay. If you're lucky, you might even see a seal! It can get a bit busy during the summer, but it'll be a lot quieter than the majority of Scottish beaches.


Outer Hebrides, Scotland: If you go to Scotland, you definitely have to take a visit to this breath-taking island which is the Outer Hebrides. It is described as heaven on Earth; filled with stunning scenery and beaches with the most spectacular colours and clarity.


Three Cliffs Bay, Wales: Three Cliffs Bay is a stunning place with lots of great paths to explore and spectacular rugged cliffs . You do have to walk a little bit in order to get to the beach as there isn't a car park near, but it's definitely worth the effort! One you're at Three Cliffs Bay, you won't want to leave.


Portheras Cove, England: Portheras Cove is an amazing secluded bay perfect for those wanting to escape the mass crowds which visit Cornwall every summer. It's worth noting that you'll need to walk for about 15-20 minutes from the nearest car park but it is definitely worth the trek! To get to the bay itself you'll be required to walk down a steep incline so please wear appropriate footwear.


Embleton Bay, England: If you're looking for a secluded beach in Northumberland which features a long stretch of golden sand; then look no further than Embleton Bay. And what's better, this hidden gem is overlooked by the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle!
